A songwriter once penned the words “What will you do with Jesus? Neutral you cannot be.” This is a call to each one of us. The joy and happiness of our present life is determined by how we answer that question. Our eternal destiny is determined by our answer.

Happy in Trials?

It used to be said in England that “Every man’s home is his castle, and the King himself need knock before asking entrance.” I have traveled in England several times in the last few years. England is noted for its castles. I have visited a few. Here are my observations.

The Cost of Covetousness
The United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing says it costs about sixty-two dollars to print 1,000 bills of paper money. Each bill, regardless of its face value, costs about 6.2 cents to produce. In that sense a one-dollar bill is as valuable as a one-hundred-dollar bill!
The Kingdoms of Men and of God
“The most High ruleth in the kingdom of men” (Daniel 4:17).
I recently visited the “King Tut and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” display at the DallasMuseum of Art in Texas. We then went to the holocaust museum and had the rare privilege of hearing Max Glauben, a survivor of the Warsaw ghetto uprising. He described the horrible scenes of extermination that he experienced as a ten- to fifteen-year-old boy.
Thou Shalt Not . . .
Three words remind us that God once gave a law. He wasn’t afraid to cut straight across men’s and women’s natural bent and say, “No, no! . . . Thou halt not . . .”
