But what does it really mean? How can I experience a change that will bring peace and meaning to my life? The Bible shows the way.

Of Greed and Gratitude

The fable is told of a greedy fox who was gorging himself on an animal he had killed. As he ate, a bone stuck in his throat, and he could not swallow it. The pain was so excruciating that the fox ran around and around seeking relief. He promised he would give anything if someone would remove the bone from his throat. He tried to get all the animals he met to remove the bone, but not one dared. Finally the crane agreed to try. The fox opened his mouth as wide as he could, and the crane stuck its long beak down his throat, loosened the bone, and pulled it out.

Uniformitarian Bias

Good marriages are a rarity. The promise of fidelity “till death do us part” is so quickly broken. The flame of love that glowed brightly on the wedding day so soon loses its radiance. The romance that promised lasting bliss wilts like a fading rose.

Jesus Loves the Little Children

Biblical morality has the good of children at heart. We see God’s heart for children in every moral precept He established. Sexual immorality, the most selfish of sins, victimizes children. And beware! The God of the Bible is consistently portrayed as the avenger of innocent victims (Deuteronomy 10:17, 18). We are told in His Word that if our religion is pure, we, like God, will help such victims, while keeping ourselves unspotted by sin (James 1:27).
